Types of Autism Spectrum Disorder and its Difference in Characteristics

between these three is on its

Lesson 2: Emotional and Behavioral Disorders
From among the several educational approaches in handling children
with emotional and behavioural disturbances, enumerate at least 3 and
explain how these approaches and strategies differ from those that are
being used in managing the regular students/pupils.

- In my own explanation and to make it short, the reason why

these approaches is different from typical method on approaching
regular pupil is, because it is meant for children with disorder
particularly emotional and behavioral. The approach for regular
student tend for their improvement which is later be measured to
tests and examination, however the expected improvement for
emotionally/behaviorally disordered children cannot be measured
by just simply answering their exams and test. As I can observed
the approach for these disordered children tend to act like a
program which not just shape the children but this can also affect
how he/she interact around her environment. The most common
why these disorder is experienced is because of fear.
- First problem of Emotionally/Behaviorally disordered
children is if they don’t have the capacity to learn that cannot
be justified by intellectual, sensory, health factors. This is due
to the fear and the anxiety they had. And by keeping the
instruction simple and concise it will be programmed to their
mind that it is attainable and by this way their fear is decrease.
- Second is when they are unable to foster or sustain
pleasing personal relationships with peers and teachers. Such
as social withdrawal and avoiding peers. Unlike the regular
students which effect of punishment is not that devastating,
handling EBD children must require positive atmosphere such as
motivation and reward. The main priority of teacher is to erase the
fear that is formed in children until there is a huge improvement
and they are enable to stand on their own.
- Third is inacceptable forms of behavior or moods under
ordinary situations such as ADHD student with chaotic
behavior, feeling of guilt. This is the hardest case to handle if a
student has it because it may lead to fatality or death. And for this
case, it is best for experts to handle this situation but one
alternative solution in the meantime is through rehabilitation.

MODULE 4
Lesson 1: Specific Learning Disability
Responsive Education: In most inclusive classrooms, many children
display various forms of misbehaviors that may be due to different
reasons. Describe the most pressing behavioral problems among children
that need special attention and how to manage such misbehaviors.
- In my own observation the prevalent behavioral problem among
students is ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
Individual ADHD cannot centered their attention on a task or
cannot sit still in a long period of time and there is no age limit in
this kind of disorder. It requires special attention because it causes
destruction in learning.

Most of ADHD cases is hereditary and it can be also due to

exposure on environmental pathogens (second hand smoker at
early age).At early age, children should not be exposed to these
kind of activity and as for hereditary cases one solution for the
children so they cannot develop ADHD is through recreational
activities (Walking, hiking, and outdoor activities). It is important
also to avoid screen time in an early age. This proves that the
development of a child having ADHD depends on the parents.
However, children with ADHD has also positive aspects
such as due to their hyperactivity they have an adequate amount of
energy, and they have the most creative way of thinking to finish a
task in a shorter amount of time they also have the uniqueness in
curiosity making them very experimental. Children with ADHD
specialized in technical subject such as math, art, computer and
etc.
