Murder Hornets

Today we are starting to see a killer hornet called Asian Giant Hornet (WHOER-net) in America

(UH- mair-ica). The hornet originated (A-RIG-inated) from Asia and has now been spotted in

areas in America. The hornets are 2 inches (IN_chez) long and can kill a human... just with its

sting. The New York Times announced Sunday that there is a rush to stop the spread of them in

America to protect our honeybees. Many scientists (SIE-en-tists) are worried that the further the

spread of the hornets... the bigger the risk of danger to our bees will be. University of Arizona

Professor John Wang explains the danger to both humans and bees if this is not stopped soon.

Following guidelines on how to help capture these hornets would mean everyone must call when

a murder hornet is spotted… make sure not to try to capture them on your own. Also, protect

honey bee nests at all times… look out for them.
