Subject: Written Test for the post of Lecturer (10+2) Geology – Result
thereof.

Notification No. PSC/Exam/2018/46

Whereas, the Commission notified the posts of Lecturer (10+2) Geology vide
Notification No. 09-PSC(DR-P) of 2016 dated: 19.03.2016; and

Whereas, in response to the said Notification, 327 applications were received

out of which 83 applications pertained to the candidates who possessed post
graduation degree in Applied Geology ;and

Whereas, pending decision of the Commission regarding eligibility or otherwise

of the candidates with Post Graduate Degree in Applied Geology, 48 candidates out of
these 83 candidates who appeared were allowed to sit in the written examination; and

Whereas, subsequently the issue was considered by the Commission in its 21st
Extra Ordinary Commission meeting dated: 06.06.2018 wherein it was decided to
shortlist only those candidates for viva-voce who possessed the prescribed
qualification for the post i.e PG in Geology, in terms of relevant recruitment rules
prescribed by the School Education Department.

Whereas, in pursuance of the above decision, the candidature of all the 83

candidates with post graduate in Applied Geology, irrespective of the fact wheather
they appeared in the written test or not or were allowed to sit in the examination, is
hereby rejected.

Now therefore, as per Rule 32 of J&K Public Service Commission (Conduct of

Examinations) Rules, 2005 read with Rule 40 of J&K Public Service Commission
(Business & Procedure) Rules, 1980, the candidates as per Annexure-A to this
notification are hereby declared to have qualified for the Oral Test/Viva Voce for the
posts of Lecturer (10+2) Geology in the School Education Department on the basis of
their performance in the Written Test which was held on 28.04.2018. The notification
with respect to the dates of Interview/Viva-Voce shall be notified by or before
25th of June, 2018.

Note:
i. For checking the result, candidates are advised to access the official website of the
Commission i.e. http://www.jkpsc.nic.in.
ii. The candidature of candidates shown in Annexure –A is purely provisional.
iii. Only eligible candidates, possessing requisite qualification prescribed under rules,
shall be allowed to appear in the Oral Test/Viva-Voce subject to the condition that
they are within the prescribed age limit on the cut-off date.
iv. The candidates, who qualified the Written Test, are advised to submit hard copy of
their online application form along with the fee receipt at J&K PSC office, Solina,
Srinagar/Resham Ghar Colony, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu or send the same to the
address of the Controller of Examinations, J&K Public Service Commission,
Solina Rambagh, Srinagar, by registered post. Only such identified documents as
have been posted by or before 18.06.2018 and delivered in the Commission by .
23.06.2018 shall be considered.
v. Candidates possessing Degrees obtained through Distance Mode shall be allowed to
appear before the Interview Board subject to their satisfying the conditionality’s
prescribed under Government Order No. 252-HE of 2012 dated: 30.05.2012 &
production of the documentary evidence in this regard.
vi. The candidates shall produce their original certificates/testimonials on the date of
oral test/Viva-Voce.

This is subject to the outcome of writ petition(s), if any, pending disposal before
competent Court(s)of Law.
