ADVANTAGES  Quantitative data  Can provide an overall picture
 Can establish a form of causation  Attending therapy instead of immediate
medication as an example
 Provides qualitative data
 Treatment options are flexible and specific
to an individual – they are independent and
personal.

DISADVANTAGES  Simple may overlook important points 

 Treatments are relatively rigid

