Top Sponsors
Being one of our three top sponsors, Prudential is a life insurance company that operates
all around parts of the world including the Americas, Pacific Asia, Europe, the Middle East, as
well as Africa and in the regions’ respective countries. Although they have locations all over the
world, they are headquartered in Newark, New Jersey. As for their products, they sell a variety of
life insurance products and plans such as the term, universal, indexed universal, and variable
universal life insurance. In addition, they sell annuities, retirement-related services (401(k)
plans), mutual funds, investment management, and real estate services. Their real estate services
include managing over 5,000 apartment units and condominiums as well as providing service
through their commercial brokerage firm throughout the state of Pennsylvania. In addition, they
manage properties for individual and local businesses such as investor groups, banks, and asset
managers. Through their products, they also collect revenue from Premiums, whether they’re
premiums from insurance, reinsurance, contracts, or annuities. Prudential’s revenue comes from
their U.S Retirement Premiums & Policy Fees as well as their Investment Income.
CIGNA is another of our top three sponsors and they focus on global health insurance.
They provide services such as business insurance and personal insurance across 18 countries in 4
different regions of the world: Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe, and Middle East. Their
headquarters are based in America in Bloomfield, Connecticut as stated in their acronym.
They’re a merged company between the Connecticut General Life Insurance Company (CG) and
the Insurance Company of North America (INA). Although their name mentions life insurance,
they are a health insurance company. As part of their global mission “to improve the health,
well-being, and peace of mind” of those that they serve, they offer Medicare and Medicaid
products as well as health, life, and accident insurance coverages. As their source of revenue,
CIGNA combined with Express Scripts. They also benefit from the suspension of the health
insurance tax back in the year of 2019 and possibly from the recent repeal of the Health
Insurance Tax this year of 2021.
Our final top sponsor is CVS Health which is synonymous with Aetna as they merged
back in 2019. They are a company that focuses on healthcare by providing medical plans,
Medicare plans, and ancillary plans. With their medical plans they offer many options such as
PPO (Preferred Provider Organization), HMO (Health Maintenance Organization), Indemnity,
EPO (Exclusive Provider Organization), stop-loss, and for individuals and families. Their
options such as PPO, HMO, and EPO allows consumers to choose a type of health plan that is
convenient and cost-efficient depending on their situation. They also offer individual and group
Medicare plans for those who are eligible. Besides health coverage plans, they have ancillary
plans which include insurance plans for dental, vision, supplemental, and pharmacy care.
Although their mission is to provide for their customers at a lower cost, they also raised their
revenue by merging with Aetna, at the cost of agreeing not to raise premiums. CVS Health also
says that they except to save more than $750 million from the merge with Aetna.
