Work Experience:

(August 2011- present) – Teacher, Pullam Elementary, Brownsville ISD

 1st grade bilingual teacher (6 years and counting) providing students with reading skills such as phonics,
phonological awareness, as well as the writing process, reading and math fluency. I also provided my
students with RTI instruction and worked with students in small group settings to assist them in any
interventions they may need. I am very familiar with programs such as Language Enrichment, Phonemic
Awareness by Haggerty, and Sentence a Day. As lead teacher I also have been in charge of conducting
grade level meetings, assisting teachers as needed, and providing coaching/modeling lessons for teachers.

 Also hosted and created many after school clubs such as Drama Club (created), Book Club (Created),
Makerspace (created), and Running club, (hosted)

 Kinder bilingual teacher (5 years) providing students with foundational skills such as phonics,
phonological awareness, and emergent writing skills. I provided students with RTI instruction as well as
ensuring that all of my students showed adequate growth. My goal was for my student to leave
kindergarten reading and writing, and I was very successful in the endeavor.

 Coached Freshman and JV Basketball at the high school level for 4 years.
