Future Jobs of America

Chances are you or someone you know has a job. What are the possible jobs of the

future? Well, this is a question that many people are asking. The future of the workforce is

something that many people are concerned about. Are robots gonna take over? Will humans be

able to have any jobs? Well, because of these new innovations engineering is going to play a

major role in the future of America.

Why do people want to know the future of the workforce? Well, many people are just

starting to look for jobs. Most of these people are the younger generation. With advances in

technology, many jobs in the future will be wiped out. Many of these jobs will be replaced with

robots or artificial intelligence. Many companies such as Tesla have already begun

experimenting with this. A program called autopilot is software that allows cars to drive

themselves. While Teslas have this feature many Teslas still need a human driver to touch the

steering wheel every so often in order for the car to know the person is still paying attention. As

new technologies like this begin to advance many jobs will be replaced by the autopilot feature.

Some jobs such as semi-drivers, cab(Uber, lyft, etc) drivers, and many other jobs that require a

human to fulfill will be completely wiped out. Many of these jobs will be taken an

The pandemic caused a huge change in the global economy. Despite this England was

able to recover. Wages are higher than they were at the beginning of the crisis and many people

built up money during the crisis. In order for the post-pandemic to go well, the government has

to allow the market to do its job and bounce back. The crisis has allowed for the creation of jobs.

However, labor shortages have risen. (The Times)

Covid has opened the opportunity for many new jobs but, it also caused many jobs to be

removed from the workforce. Many small businesses were forced to close due to the small

amount of profit being made. Many businesses even made no profit. This was due to people

staying at home and not buying many things from in-person stores. Many people stayed at home

and ordered online.

“New technologies, work process changes, software improvements and other innovations

were sweeping through workplaces across the continent, eliminating, redefining and creating

jobs.” This shows that engineering is going to be a much-needed job in the future. The COVID-

19 pandemic appears to be hastening changes in the workplace that were already underway. With

this comes new advances in technology. (Wayne)

Although the Covid pandemic has allowed for new jobs it has also caused some jobs to

disappear. “Millions of jobs that have been shortchanged or wiped out entirely by the

coronavirus pandemic are unlikely to come back, economists warn, setting up a massive need for

career changes and retraining in the United States.” These new jobs have caused many small

businesses to go out of business. New technologies are causing the need for storefronts to slowly

diminish. (Long)

Along with changes in technology comes a new type of job. What is this type of job?

Well, it is sneaker reselling. “Sneakers, once the symbol of athleticism, have transcended their

primary function to become commercial and fashionable objects of desire. From sportswear and

street style to catwalk fashion, sneakers have made their mark as cultural commodities.” This

shows how the sneakers have changed over time. Sneakers have become a status symbol over

time. As Nike and Jordan began to become popular so did sneakers. (Naomi)

“Sneaker reselling is based on a simple concept that guides many other businesses: buy

low, sell high. You'll want to figure out how to track expenses and figure out net profit on each

pair sold.” Sneaker reselling is just like buying and selling anything else. The market for sneaker

reselling is a market that has recently begun to thrive. This market has begun to thrive due to

many people buying online. (Ciment)

Covid has allowed for the creation of many new jobs. Many jobs have been created due

to new technologies. Many of the new jobs created have been due to new businesses. Along with

new businesses the engineering field has begun to thrive. With this comes the future of the

workforce.
