First National Convention of Accounting Professionals
We are delighted to inform you that the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) is organizing
“First National Convention of Accounting Professionals” on May 3-4, 2022, (Tuesday and Wednesday,
Baishakh 20-21, 2079) in Nepal Academy, Kamaladi, Kathmandu, Nepal in order to demonstrate the role
of professional accountants in balanced growth of the national economy and unite the voice of all
accounting professionals in one platform for better and enhanced financial reporting and accounting
services; and to bring together all the Regulating Authorities within Nepal for better regulation with
improved cooperation and coordination.
The Institute has currently around 1,800 Chartered Accountants and 7,236 Registered Auditors as
members and approximately 12,000 students at various levels of Chartered Accountancy. This year, the
Institute has completed 25 years of its establishment and has been observing Silver Jubilee Celebration
with various programs and activities. In this context, the Institute intends to organize its First National
Convention of Professional Accountants on the theme “Upholding Public Interest”. The Convention aims
to conduct panel discussions and paper presentations from eminent personalities representing various
professional spectrum. It consists of Role of Regulators in Upholding Public Interest, Role of ICT in Good
Governance, Role of Accounting Profession in Entrepreneurship Development, Contemporary
Developments in Accounting Profession, and Current Scenario of National Economy and Way Forward.
Eminent personalities and experts having in-depth knowledge of the respective subject matter from
regulators, government agencies and accounting profession will present and comment on technical papers
and provide the participants with a unique learning opportunities. Members and other accounting
professionals participating this national Convention will also get an opportunity to learn something about
Value of Life too. The detailed program outline has been enclosed herewith for kind reference.
In this regard, all accounting professionals, members and students of ICAN, representatives from corporate
and business sectors and government agencies are cordially invited to participate in this mega Convention
of the Institute.
