VALUES CONFLICT

TASK #1. Choose a combination of two values from the list below Values Definition
Table and write a short (1-2 paragraph), imaginary scenario in which those values
conflict and a decision must be made.

Example: Cooperation vs. Independence

Daniela liked to work alone; she was good at reading information, understanding things,
and pacing herself. One of her teachers was giving extra credit for working on a project
in pairs. Daniela’s friend, Mary, wanted to work with her. Mary was fun to work with and
put in a lot of effort but didn’t get the same high grades as Daniela. Mary would benefit
from Daniela’s help, but Daniela might have to sacrifice some of her high standards.
Should she pair up with Mary for the project? (10 points)

RESPECT VS. TOLERANCE

Steff is a shop worker in a local bakeshop; He is a hardworking individual, and He
perseveres to get work done as soon as possible. One day, he was taking a break when
his boss Adrian saw him, He was scolded out of the blue by Adrian and told him to go
back to work and to not slack off. The cycle continued on, even though Steff is on a
break, his boss continues to scold him whenever he saw him. Steff is hesitant to talk
back because he respects his boss. If he talks back, he may lose his job and he needs
the job so that he can provide the needs of his family. He continues to tolerate his boss
even though he is not doing anything wrong. Should Steff continue to tolerate his boss,
or should he talk to him?

PERSONAL HAPPINESS VS SACRIFICE

As we grow old, our priorities also change along with our maturity. Even though we are
used to be fond of those things in the past, we will have to sacrifice those things for our
future. Me, personally I am fond of playing sports specifically volleyball. I used to play it
back when I was in our province. But now, since I am now nursing student, I will have to
sacrifice that to give more time for my studies. It’s a small price to pay for salvation, As
Thanos said in Avenger’s infinity war. Our sacrifices from here on out will be worth it in
the end as future health workers and future nurses.
