My World View Essay

A world view shows what a person believes about how the world was created and what

they believe about every other aspect of the world. A lot of people don’t have a biblical

worldview. The are many other beliefs that are not biblical, the main one being evolution. I

personally have a biblical worldview where God created the universe then man sinned and fell

away from God. Then God sent His Son to save us from our sins.

God has revealed himself in the Bible as an infinite and personal God. The Lord’s

understanding is described as infinite in Psalms 147:5. Similarly, in Psalms 145:3 his greatness is

said to be unsearchable. One of God’s attributes is His holiness, the sum perfection of God.

Habakkuk 1:13 says, “your eyes are too pure to approve evil.” Another one of God’s attributes is

his eternal nature, without end or beginning. Isaiah 40:28 says that he is everlasting. Moreover,

God is a personal being who we can develop a relationship with. In Psalms 18:2 David declares

God as his God and his deliverer. Psalms 27:1 says,” the Lord is my light and my salvation;

whom shall I fear?” David knew that God was a personal being and he showed that through his

writings. Another one of God’s attributes is his omniscience. Psalms 139:2 b says,” you

understand my thoughts from afar.” The Lord understands everything and knows us even more

than we know ourselves. God’s love is another one of his moral attributes. Romans 5:8 says,” but

God demonstrates his love toward us, in that we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” God shows

a divine, perfect love to us that is hard for us to understand. The Lord is a perfect, eternal, and

personal God.

God, who is the intricate designer of the universe, created the world in six days.

Colossians 1:6 says, “For by Him all things were created.” God created the entire world out of

nothing. He designed everything living and non-living to function perfectly. He holds the entire

world together. Furthermore, He created the universe in six literal days(Genesis 1). On the first

day, He created the heavens and the earth. On the second and third days, He separated the

waters, dried the land, and created the plants. Then God created the sun, the moon, and the stars

on the fourth day. On the fifth day, He created ocean life and birds in the sky. On the final day,

God created animals and he also made man in His own image. God is so powerful, beyond our

understanding, that all He had to do was speak to create the universe in six days.

Man was made in God’s image and fell away from Him in sin. God created man on the

sixth day of creation. Genesis 1:26 says, “Then God said, ‘Let us make man in Our image,

according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky

and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the

earth.’” In Genesis 3 Adam and Eve broke the one rule that God made for them in the Garden of

Eden. This one action of disobedience caused all of humankind to fall away from God and have a

sinful nature.

God is the creator of the entire universe, and he has power over it. Genesis 1:1 says,” In

the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Because He designed the world, He gets

to make every detail, including morality. Furthermore, God is perfect without flaw, unlike

humans who have a sinful nature. Psalms 10:4 says,” The wicked, in haughtiness of his

countenance, does not seek Him. All his thoughts are, There is no God.” We do not know what is

best for ourselves, even though we think we do. God is eternal, everlasting, and He knows what

is best for us. Our perfect creator decides what is right and wrong.

The cause of evil and suffering is man’s sinful nature being disobedient to God. God

loves people and He doesn’t want them to suffer. Ezekiel 33:11 says,” … I take no pleasure in

the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn back from his way and live.”

Furthermore, the Lord is perfect and holy. He cannot live with evil. Because God is holy, he

cannot let evil go unpunished. God sent His son to die on the cross and save us from our sin so

that we can live with Him in eternal life. God has a plan where He will wipe out all evil and

create His “new” heaven and earth. Sinful mankind has brought all evil and suffering into the

world and God, our savior, will remove it all.

When we die, we will either go to heaven or we will go to hell. John 3:16 says,” God sent

his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Those who believe and trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior will go to heaven. We will

dwell with God in heaven until He creates the new heaven and new Earth. People who do not

believe that Jesus died and took away the punishment for their sins will go to hell, the place of

torment. Mathew 8:12 describes hell as a place of weeping and gnashing of teeth.

There is an existent spiritual world that we cannot see containing God, angels, and

demons. Angels are considered God’s messengers or servants. They are never mediators between

us and God. We can talk straight to God through His son Jesus Christ. Satan is the leader of the

demons. He is described as an adversary or opponent in Mathew 4 and Job 1-4. The only power

that Satan has comes from God. We need to be aware of the spiritual world and look to Christ.

I believe that God created the universe in six days. Then man disobeyed God and now

have a sinful nature. Then God sent His son to die on the cross so that we could live with God in

eternity. Most importantly, I believe that our sole purpose being on the earth is to bring glory to

God. Colossians 3:23 says, “whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as for the lord and

not for men.” We need to continually work on our relationship with God and constantly give

glory to Him for all of our accomplishments.
