The Consisting Elements of POVS

When reading a text identifying the diverse point of views implied by the author is an

element of understanding. With this in mind, if one understands such a meaning, this is then

when the main point and supporting evidence of the overall text arises and becomes visible to the

reader. Throughout the text, “Search mechanisms and innovation: An analysis across multiple

perspectives”, one can see the perspective used, main point, and the supporting evidence to

follow along.

When beginning to read the author presents the different perspectives as he introduces the

information. We see this through transitions such as, “From a practical point of view, the

research indicates the interplay of different dynamic capabilities on a firm's innovation

performance and may help managers to ascertain the importance of internal mechanisms for

business success” (Appio et al. 108). By giving general point of views and then introducing their

own, the authors of the article manage to make 3 different perspectives be known to the reader.

Moreover, with the inclusion of the three different perspectives: where, how, and loci towards

the overall text (Appio et al. 104), the author does indeed present diverse perspectives to the

reader.

To continue, the main point of the text manages to include the correlation between

mechanism and innovations and how these two will evolve over time. Throughout this text this is

implied, whilst providing supporting evidence along the way. Evidence such as paragraphs

presented, dealing with the three different perspectives, and providing information on the search

mechanisms found throughout the tables and diagrams demonstrated as well. One can see such

statements like, “The two papers contributing to the identification and characterization of Cluster

2 unveil how—and to what extent—firms adopt and adapt formal and informal social media

tools in their searching routines” (Appio et al. 107). This then gives the reader a better

understanding on what the outcomes revolve around. In addition to this, many other outside

dependable sources are cited in the text and are similarly shown in the references. Some of the

sources contain that of peer-reviewed which then makes the knowledge delivered to the reader

even more trustworthy. Hence, ends up having the supporting evidence of outside sources

making the text a dependable one. Overall, the text does an undoubtedly good job in allowing the

reader to see the perspective used, have the main point identified, and present supporting

evidence to the claims.
