Haveri
 The name Haveri is derived from two Kannada words, ‘Havu’ and ‘Keri’, meaning ‘Place of snakes’.

 The history of Haveri traces back to the pre-historic period when the Stone Age civilizations existed on
the Tungabhadra and Varada river basins.

 A core area of Western Chalukya architectural activity, Haveri epitomizes the rich culture and heritage of
a bygone era. Ancient temples, old tanks, a peacock sanctuary, a blackbuck sanctuary, all add up to the
unique charm of Haveri.
 Haveri district is exactly in the center of
Karnataka with equal distance from both north
and south. It is also known as the gateway
district to the northern districts of Karnataka.

Tambura
 Kanakadasa who wrote devotional compositions, sang it playing
a simple instrument called Tambura.

 The name Tambura is derived from tanapura which breaks

down into tana, referring to a musical phrase, and pura, which
means "full" or "complete".

 Our concept is inspired by his musical instrument and the

spiritual evolution which made him enlightened
THE CONCEPT PLANNING OF KANAKA LOKHA

As per ancient scriptures that Human consciousness

consists of a series of layers and the process of spiritual
evolution is the progression from one Kosha (layer) to
the next.

1. Annamaya Kosha
2. Pranamaya Kosha
3. Manomaya Kosha
4. Vignanamaya Kosha 01 02 03 04 05
5. Anandamaya Kosha

In a similar manner we have attempted to delineate the

site into various layers – the synthesis of which would
provide an architectural solution that will be holistic.

 Prithvi Kosha (The Physical Layer)

 Itihasa Kosha (The Historic & Cultural Layer)
 Purusha Kosha (The People Layer)
 Atma Kosha (The Spiritual Layer)
