SKELETAL SYSTEM
NOTES:
1. The skeleton gives shape and support to our body.
2. It protects the soft internal organs:
(i) The skull protects the brain.
(i) The rib cage protects the heart and the lungs.
(ii) The backbone protects the spinal cord.
3. Itallows the movement of different body pars
4, Many bones in our body are hollow. They ae filled witha jll-tike
substance called bone marrow. Blood cells are made in the bone marrow. The skeletal system includes more than just bones. It also includes tendons, ligaments, and cartilage.
Tendons attach our bones to musoles so we can move around. Ligaments attach bones to other
bones.
Muscles are how we move and live. All movement in the body is controlled by muscles. Some
muscles work without us thinking, like our heart beating, while other muscles are controlled by our
thoughts and allow us to do stuff and move around. All of our muscles together make up the body's
muscular system.
‘Museles work by contracting and relaxing.Types of Muscles

* In the walls of blood vessels and internal organs
Cardiac

endocrine systems
