— Rigveda 10.17
May the waters, the mothers, cleanse us,
may they who purify with butter, purify us with butter,
for these goddesses bear away defilement,
I come up out of them pure and cleansed.

The soil is the great connector of lives, the source and destination of all. Fertility of the soil is the
future of civilization. Today, in the 21st century, the continuous pressures of globalization and the
unrestrained drive to increase productivity are depleting the ecosystems from which humans derive
their resources and well-being. Faced with climate issues and the challenges of living together, we
look to social movements to find ways of rethinking community and renewing our understanding of
social issues, our relationship with the Earth, with all living beings and the spirit of humanity. By
calling on the skills of those who often find it difficult to speak out or are not considered worthy of
being listened to, social activists can leverage these neglected voices, day after day, alongside NGOs,
governments and international organizations. Here is one such activist, Dr Suniti Mund (h.c.). With
her ability to facilitate different ways of speaking out, role of a go-between, sometimes mediator,
but a force for awareness raising and mobilization.

“The nation that destroys its soil, destroys itself.” Said Franklin Delano Roosevelt.  “How can I
stand on the ground every day and not feel its power? How can I live my life stepping on this stuff
and not wonder at it?” said William Bryant Logan. Activists like Suniti are aware of the roles they
are playing in the larger social movement. There are four different roles Suniti plays in order to
successfully create social change: as a Citizen, as a positive rebel, as a change agent, and as a
reformer. For her, each role has different purposes, styles, skills, and needs and can be played
effectively or ineffectively. She has won respect and, ultimately, acceptance of majority of ordinary
citizens in order for her movements to succeed. Consequently, citizen say “Yes!” to her fundamental
principles, values and symbols accepted by the general public. At the same time, she rebels with a
loud “No!” and protest social conditions and institutional policies and practices that violate core
societal values and principles. In short, the Joan of Arc.
“The farther we get away from the land, the greater our insecurity,” said Henry Ford. “Keep your
eyes on the stars, keep your feet on the ground said Theodore Roosevelt Jr. Suniti started hearing
"voices" which she claims were the voices of Mother Odisha, Mother Bhabanipatna and Mother
Bhubaneswar. She continued and continues to fight for interests of the mass as a daughter, Mother
and a sister, but her luck ran out for a coveted seat. But, a Soldier of impeccable character, Suniti has
resolved to fight back and show the mass that she is the real agent who can usher in a rain of
perceptible change; a change for the better and a change for the health of the Society.

Social crusading is a purposeful action with the mission of bringing about lasting social change.
Anyone like Suniti, with a cause that they feel passionate about can become a social activist if they
work to create effective and positive change. Social crusading generally refers to working to right the
wrongs of unjust practices affecting humans, such as the Rohingya genocide in Myanmar or the
separation of families at the United States and Mexico border by immigration officers. However,
activists can work to create change with any cause, including environmental crusading and animal
crusading. These facts about social crusading provide information on evolution of crusading; social
crusading. You don't run into too many people like this on a daily basis. They appear at the most
random times, it’s almost like they were meant to be in your life to teach you a lesson. Tired of new-
age and toxic spirituality, Suniti is a down to earth persona. Being one ought to remember that being
modest isn’t about always downplaying your strengths. It’s more about being realistic, truthful,
picturesque, genuine, faithful, idealistic, pragmatical, sober, precise, naturalistic and sensible,
absolutely, certainly, indisputably, indubitably, positively, undoubtedly and unquestionably and
veritably.

Humans are naturally team players; we all seek the company of others and like to share our
experiences.  Many know what the words loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honour, integrity,
and personal courage mean. But how often do you see someone actually live up to them? Going
Beyond the Hashtag, a story of courage, perseverance, and patriotism, Suniti, does a "boots and
bots" approach helps to tackle competitors "who operate so freely on the seams and blurred
boundaries of our security and legal frameworks. She is a woman of substance, grit, reliability,
fearlessness, discipline, consistency, courage, motivation and skill. courageous and disciplined being
who upholds numerous values and responsibilities with the utmost responsibility to save the
interest and integrity of the populace, she has paid a sacrifice of the moments she could have spent
with her families, friends and loved ones. Down to earth people like Suniti, could be important
members of society. But they do not consider themselves to be better than others who are less
important. They do not let their importance go to their heads. When Suniti has both feet firmly on
the ground, and when she is down to earth, our lives are like the ground below us -- solid and
strong.

This is a big investment due to the Call of the Soil.
