I thought that this chapter was mostly about trying to find out what makes visual things

art and not just what things are visually pleasing. I personally think that art has to be

something that has a purpose that has meaning and pleasing to look at not just because it

is pretty. If that was the case almost everything could be considered art. A pile of trash is

not art, a representation of trash through everyday items that make human society worse

can be viewed as an artful representation of the world we live in.
