Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 10th installment of
financial benefit under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-
KISAN) scheme around ₹20,900 crore is being transferred to about
10.09 crore beneficiaries.
During the virtual event, the Prime Minister also released an equity
grant of more than ₹14 crore to about 351 Farmer Producer
Organizations (FPOs), benefiting 1.24 lakh farmers.
With the released latest tranche, the total amount provided under the
scheme has touched about ₹1.8 lakh crore
the PM-KISAN scheme was announced in February 2019. Under the
PM-KISAN scheme, a financial benefit of ₹6,000 per year is provided to
the eligible farmer families, payable in three equal installments of
₹2,000.

India is 80.9 million hectares. It is 24.62 percent of the geographical area of India.

Andhra Pradesh (647 sq km), Telangana (632 sq km) and Odisha (537 sq km) are the top three states
that have shown an increase in forest cover.
Madhya Pradesh has the largest forest cover in the country followed by Arunachal Pradesh,
Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Maharashtra. Lakshadweep, Mizoram, Andaman & Nicobar Islands,
Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya have more than 75 percent forest cover. In terms of forest cover as
percentage of total geographical area, Mizoram (84.53%), Arunachal Pradesh (79.33%), Meghalaya
(76.00%), Manipur (74.34%), and Nagaland (73.90%) are the top five states.
The total mangrove cover in the country is 4,992 sq km. Mangrove cover has increased by 17 sq Km as
compared to the last year. Top three states showing mangrove cover increase are Odisha (8 sq km)
followed by Maharashtra (4 sq km) and Karnataka (3 sq km).

application under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Automobile and
Auto Component Industry which was notified on 23rd September 2021.
The scheme was open for receiving applications till 9th January 2022. Incentives are
applicable under the scheme for determined sales of Advanced Automotive
Technology (AAT) products (vehicles and components) manufactured in India from
1st April 2022 onwards for a period of 5 consecutive years, the Ministry of Heavy
Industries said in a statement.
The government has approved the PLI Scheme for Automobile and Auto
Components Industry in India for enhancing country’s manufacturing capabilities for
advanced automotive products with a budgetary outlay of ₹25,938 crore. The PLI
scheme for the auto sector will incentivize high value vehicles and products.
