1. I inferred that Ting would leave the house as his actions such as getting a jacket and asking
his mom for an umbrella indirectly express that he will.
2. I think it is rainy during that day as Ting’s mother reminded him to stay dry, meaning, she
does not want her son to get wet because of the rain.
3. Ting’s mother is a very caring mom as she wants Ting to stay dry in order not to catch a cold.
4. My description of Ting’s mother is derived from my inferences which came from the
situation or events that had happened in the passage.
B.
1. I think that the children were very excited because it’s their teacher’s special day; I think of
it because of the candle which we all know is used whenever there are birthday parties and
the like.
2. I think that the pupils like Mrs. Tan because if not, they would not think of surprising her in
her special day.
3. I think Mrs. Tan was very happy during that day because in the last part of the passage, it
has been stated that “her face broke into a big smile”.
