1. Ibalong
During this festival, people parade through the streets wearing masks and costumes
resembling the epic's heroes and villains, reenacting classic battles from Bicol's history.
2. Kadayawan
The most anticipated and main highlight of the event is the Kadayawan Festival dance
on the streets. Contingents from all over Mindanao perform award-winning choreography
while displaying their creativity through their colorful and extravagant Kadayawan Festival
dance costumes!
3. Moriones
Participants dress up as Roman soldiers and wear the Moriones costume so that no
one can recognize them. The Morions dress up in their costumes for a week. They remove it
only when they can eat or sleep. They see it as a form of sacrifice because they have to stand
and walk around in thin strap slippers under the hot sun while wearing heavy wooden masks.
The Moriones frighten children and court ladies by singing and dancing to them.
