1. What is the main claim of the advertisement?

Despite the fact that Subaru sells cars to people, it has centered its marketing campaign on dogs.

Notably, through market research, the car company has realized that pets, especially dogs, are a

big part of their customers' lives. Therefore, the central claim of the advert is to attract more

customers by use of the lovely adorable dogs.

Using dogs in commercials was first brought by Carmichael Lynch, the Subaru company

advertising agency. After thorough market research and realized that most of their customers

love dogs; therefore, they used the dogs for marketing their vehicles.

3. Does the advertisement provide any evidence?

For instance, the dogs drive to a refill station and leave to drink water in the washroom. They

portray the human being character while driving the car.

4. What types of appeals does the advertisement use?

Pathos - for instance, the dog family is seen taking one of the family members to school.

Notably, then everybody knows that going to school is awful. However, the advert's pathos is

that it is woeful and heartwarming to send kids to school; therefore, adding a bunch of adorable

dogs in the mix brings some severe feelings. The emotional jerk of the sad kid and the cute dog

is the most substantial evidence that gets viewers to react and engage in the advert.

Ethos- the use of dogs instead of people came as a shock to most customers because of the cute

factor. The use of the dogs in the advert adds more emotional appeal because the customers are

in love with the adorable dog's family.

Logos - for instance, on the advert of back to school for kids was to persuade parents to purchase

their brands during the back-to-school period.

The audience Subaru has repeatedly targeted is the middle-class families that care about safety

and reliability. In most of their adverts, Subaru shows a similar commercial that shows the big

transition a middle-class family goes through.

Part 2

The music video was shot in East Los Angeles and featured Black Eyed Peas and other

individuals, including several young kids. The song was released in June 2003, responding to the

9/11 terror attacks. The video and the song lyrics addressed terrorism, racism, crimes, pollution,

and intolerance. The singer employed rhetorical appeals such as ethos, pathos, and logos to pass

the message. The overall relationship between the two versions is that we should love and accept

each other regardless of religion, race, or even color. The world is a better place when we have

love towards one another rather than fight within ourselves

The video story is about how lack of love has affected the world and made it a dangerous place.

The main characters in the video are the singer Black Eyed Peas and other individuals, especially

young kids demonstrating how the world has turned out to be dangerous for human survival

because of lack of love.

told lead the viewer to believe?

The story leads the viewer to believe that lack of love is the backbone of all evil deeds. Nobody

could heart or destroy the other with love because they love them and wish for their victory.

The video gives proof of how people suffered from the terrorist attack. Children were left with

no parents to take good care of them.

The video shows influential people carrying out terrorism within the USA like the CIA, and

failure to understand the truth leads to continued deaths and terrorism.

Pathos - For instance, the video shows police following the wrong man for a crime he never

committed, bringing an emotional reaction to the viewers.

Ethos- Black Eyed Peas employed credibility and influential position to their reward and sang

the song to resist against the evil conditions in the world.

Logos- The song creates images in the listeners' minds as they listen to it. For example, when the

singer talks about the people killings and the terrorism in the CIA.

6. Based on your answers, who is the audience for this advertisement? Some things to

consider when thinking about the audience.

The audience is every United States of America citizen regardless of race, gender or religion.

However, the song primarily exemplifies the theme concerning human rights through the

individual and social relationship.
