 Woodcarving is an ancient craft practiced in India long


before the age of ancient stone sculptural age. It is the artistic
practice of shaping and decorating wooden objects into
diverse utilitarian and decorative handicrafts item. Raw
Materials Used for Woodcarving Are Wood, Babul, Gum,
Potassium Permanganate, Wood Preservatives, Varnish
Materials for embossing, fevicol, zinc, colours
The Market, the buyers, the middlemen, and the areas covered

 The Artisans Sell Their Products by Going to Exhibitions


Held by The State Government or The National Government
or by Selling in The Fare. They Even Used to Sell It in The
Village or District. It Covers a Very Large Area of More
Than 1000 Sq. Km. Longer and 1200 Sq. Km. Longer
 The Countries to Which Exports Are Made
 Indian handicrafts are exported across geographies, with
the top 10 destinations being the US, the UK, the UAE,
Germany, France, Latin American countries (LAC), Italy, the
Netherlands, Canada and Australia.

Working Condition of a Worker


 They sometimes work indoors without heating or air
conditioning. Often wear protective attire, such as knee pads
or safety goggles. Often are exposed to hazardous equipment,
such as power saws

Modernizing of process over a period of time


 In The Olden Days People Used to Use “AARI” also
known as Saw. Now A Days Artisans Are Now Preferring to
Have an Electric Saw Because It Consumes Less Manpower,
And Work Can be done Very Fast

Facilities, Security and Training for Staff and


Workers
 For Workers the Artisans Give P.F and Daily
Allowance and for The Workers They Provide
Only Daily Allowance. They Provide Training
Program in Every Year or Six Months Which
Depends On Upgradation or Coming of a New
Product.
Subsidies Available/Availed
 No Subsidies are Given To The Workers
