rare type of heart disease in which a single blood vessel (truncus arteriosus) comes out of the right
and left ventricles, instead of the normal 2 vessels (pulmonary artery and aorta)
there is usually a hole — known as a ventricular septal defect — between the two lower chambers of
the heart.
Truncus Arteriosus: Manifestations
Blue coloring of the skin (cyanosis)
Poor feeding
Pounding heart
Excessive sleepiness
Poor growth
Shortness of breath (dyspnea)
Rapid breathing (tachypnea)
