Whenthe icecubeproduction timeis increased,andthecubesstartto losetheir
transparency, it is timeto cleanthewatersystem.Howoftenyoucleanthe systemdepends
on thehardness of thewater.Duringfreezing, thecalciumin thewateris depositedon the
refrigerantplate.Thesedeposits actas insulation,
decreasing theefficiency
of theappliance's
performance.

HOWTO CLEANTHEWHIRLPOOL
ICEMAKERS:

1) Turnoffthewaterandswitchoffthe appliance by pressingthe greenswitch.

2) Openthe ice binandremoveallthe cubes.
3) Removethe plugor the drainhose(if provided) insidethe bin.
4) Pour1.51of watermixedwith1/10litreof vinegaror 4 tablespoons of lemonjuice
or citricacidintothe binusingthefunnelprovided.
5) Pressthetwoswitches(greenand blue)andoperatethe appliance for 40
minutesapprox.
6) Releasethetwoswitches(greenandblue)anddrainthiswatermixtureintothe
linerby inverting the positionof the funnel.
7) Pour1.51waterand2 tablespoonful of bakingsodaintothe bin,pressthetwo
switches(greenandblue)andoperatethe appliance for 5 minutesapprox.
8) Drainthe waterand repeatthe operation, by rinsingwith1.51of waterandleaving
the appliance operating for 5 minutes.
9) Removethefunnelwiththe hoseafterthe waterdrainand replacethe plugor the
drainhose.
10)Cleanthe insideof the binreservoir andthe doorgasketwitha softcloth
dampened in a solutionof warmwaterandbakingsoda.
11)Pressthe greenswitchandturnthe wateron:the icemakerwillbeginto work
again.

lmpoftant:
To preventodourcontamination of the icecubes,do not put foodsor beverages into
the icecubebin.Whennot in usefor longperiodsof time(holidays, etc.)turn off the
water,pullout the plug,removeall icecubes,drainthewatertankby removingthe

ADJUSTINGTHE ICE CUBE THICKNESS

lce cubethicknessis pre-setat the factory. The thicknesscan be increased or

decreased by turningthe thermostat knobwitha screwdriver. Turningthe
knobclockwiseincreases the thickness,
turningit anti-clockwisedecreases
the thickness.By meansof the thermostat knobit is possibleto adjustthe
variationsdueto the ambienttemperature, whenit is higherthan32'C and
lowerthan10'C.

- Neverturnthethermostat knoboutsidethe fieldindicated on the dial.

- Adjustthe icethicknessthermostat onlyaftera few hoursoperationand
onlyafterthe bin hashalf-filled withice cubes.
- Non-observance of the thermostat settingrulecouldresultin damageto
the ice maker, especially if the thermostatknobis lefton a lowgettingin a
highroomtemperature.
In thiscasethe icecouldbecomeso thickthe icewillnotcut. On the other
hand, the icethickness couldbe reduced to a minimumor noneat all.

ADJUSTING THEBINTHERMOSTAT
Thethermostat is pre-setat thefactory.
However, if theambient temperature is higherthan+ 32C it is necessary
to
adjustthethermostat knobto position (SunSymbol = Hot),if theambient
temperature is lowerthan+16oC, it willbe necessaryto adjustthethermostat
knobto position (Snowflake = Cold).
