This introductory course in teacher education examines the role of the elementary school teacher in
today’s society; historical, philosophical, cultural, and social domains are investigated. Strategies for
effective interpersonal communication are explored. Foundations for the practice of teaching are explored
and practiced at an introductory level.

I learned several strategies for developing engaging and effective lesson plans as well as effective
teaching methods as well as took the time to think about why I want to teach in the first place.
What I learned will help me to build a strong foundation for my teaching strategies.
This course provides an overview of the characteristics, training, and educational needs of students with
disabilities and those classified as Gifted and Talented. Focus also pertains to the historical, social, and
legal foundations of special education. It is designed to provide substitute teachers with ith the necessary
methods when working with children with individualized needs.

I learned the intricacies of writing an IEP. I learned about several learning disabilities and ways to help
alleviate the stresses caused to the student by them.
These lessons will help me to provide better education for struggling students.
Explain the use of computers and technology in education and teach different ways to use technology to
improve education.

I learned several methods to utilize technology in the classroom. I was reminded to think outside the box
when using tools and I learned what profound effect technology has had on education
Technique wise I didn't learn much but I learned to think harder about how I can use what I have.

to help facilitate their learning
I think I will use these methods every year in both my classes and the outer world. Understanding the
motivations and struggles helps me to better know the best course to resolve conflicts of all kinds.

Having a baseline understanding of how to set up my classroom will help me to create an environment
