Objectives: On completion of this subject, a student should be able to:


1. Ability to assess the economic behavior of society based on the relationship among
individual consumers, producers, and government in Malaysia.
2. Ability to relate between micro and macro issues as well as methodology in economic
problem solving through the understanding of limitations, capacity, and equitable
resources allocations.

Synopsis: This subject introduces the students to the concepts and principles related to Malaysian
economy. It demonstrates the applications of the government’s economic policies and
plans to gain a better understanding of economic policies, problems, and issues.

Learning method: Each week students are expected to attend 2 hours of lecture. Students should
independently reinforce the learning by referencing at least the designated topic in the
prescribed textbook and attempt all assigned exercise questions prior to attending the
proceeding lecture sessions. Students will be asked to read the assigned topics or articles
as pre-class activities and actively participate in class discussions.

Assessment: Coursework 100%
