SOURCE A:

- Marc’s Schedule: It’s really detailed and he has a lot of things going on. He’s involved in
a lot of activities in his community but he still makes time for Carly. The things on his
calendar that have to do with Carly have exclamation points that show he’s excited.
- Carly’s Schedule: She doesn’t really have anything going on, and the only thing that has
exclamation points/the only thing she’s excited for on her calendar is her Girls’ Night
with Sara.
SOURCE B:
- This statement came from Danielle who knows everything about everyone, but is also
known to be over-dramatic. She tells Marc that she’s heard he’s being cheated on, but
Carly also believes that Marc is cheating on her. Something else that Danielle says is that
Carly is going to break up with Marc, but this was also said by a boy who likes Carly.
SOURCE C:
- This source was just kind of dumb and didn’t really add any value. It just discussed why
dating in your teenage years wasn’t a good idea and didn’t really help anything. It didn’t
provide any evidence that contributes to why or why not Marc should break up with
Carly.
SOURCE D:
- This was Sara’s snapchat story. One thing I found interesting about her story was that
Sara mentioned that it was only her and Jack there, but on Carly’s schedule, it showed
that John was there for both study sessions. This could show that Sara was trying to hide
something, like Carly was potentially cheating on Marc with John? Or it could also show
that John just wasn’t there yet, or Sara just forgot about him.
SOURCE E:
- On Source E, which was Carly’s Twitter, she mentions gossiping with Sara, and then one
of the hashtags that she uses is “secrets secrets are so fun”. This could potentially be a
secret about how she’s cheating on Marc?
SOURCE F:
- These text messages were some of the most important pieces of evidence I thought. On
the texts between Carly and Marc, you can see that Carly is manipulative and is trying to
guilt Marc into not going to Matt’s party. She ignores him when he tells her that he’s
going, and she’s trying to manipulate him into not going. In the texts between Marc and
Matt, there’s another interesting text that contributes to this argument. Matt texts Marc
and says that if Anna’s coming then Marc has to. This is interesting because Carly is
already suspicious that Marc likes Anna, and it seems like Matt knows something the rest
of us don’t.
SOURCE G:
- Anna posts a picture o herself and Marc at Matt’s bonfire, and they look awfully close. I
don’t think most people give another person a piggyback ride like that unless they like
them.
SOURCE H:
- This source just shows how expensive the Melting Pot was, and how much Marc was
willing to spend and put into his relationship with Carly. However, it doesn’t really seem
like Carly is putting anything into their relationship and it doesn’t seem like she really
cares about it.

THESIS: In Source F, we can clearly see that Carly is manipulative in their relationship and is
trying to make Marc feel guilty about hanging out with his best friend, and in Sources A and H,
we are able to see how much Marc values his relationship with Carly and how much effort he
puts into it, while Carly isn’t trying at all and doesn’t care about their relationship. Based on
these sources, Marc should break up with Carly because we are able to see in Source F that Marc
may or may not be developing feelings for someone else, and Carl clearly doesn’t care about him
enough to try to make things work.
