THE PIRATES OF THE SILICON VALLEY

ASSIGNMENT #2

This film is actually an educational film for me because it tells us the history
of how these two famous names in the field of computer technology got to where they
are now and how they changed the way life was a long time ago. The film actually
presented the experiences of the 'big' people or the company's founders, who are just
geniuses to think and build something they are so interested in, and how this rivalry
between the two arose. Their adventures continued with computer inventions, loans,
publicity, victory and revolution with bankers, business and employee deals, which
eventually led to some software piracy and conflicts. The film The Pirates of Silicon
Valley is simply fantastic. But at first, I thought the film was about the birth and rise of
Apple and Microsoft. The majority of the film revolves around Steve Jobs and Bill Gates
stealing ideas from Apple Inc. After I finished watching the film, I realized why it was
titled "The Pirates of Silicon Valley." But I don't believe Bill Gates stole the operating
system. He simply stole the concept of how it works. However, the plot of the film
revolves around the rivalry between two of the world's largest computer companies.
This is what came to mind and what I concluded as I reacted to the film. That being a
genius in your field is insufficient. To be successful, you should do something stupid.
Issues arose and a lot of things happened between the two gentlemen after they
became the man of their own company. But the most important thing they have right
now is their diligence in their work. They will not achieve what they have now unless
they work hard.
