Vladimir Putin like any other person on this planet has a

past which may lead us as to why this conflict is actually
happening

Vladimir Putin, A name I’m sure we’ve all come to know as the man who invaded Ukraine on Febru-
ary 24, 2022. His actions have left countless dead and even more injured as the invasion continues
to rampage on. its vital we know how this man came to the position he is now and what exactly his
uprising in government has to do with the situation in Ukraine currently.

The war in Russia right now is horrible and it’s vital that we have insight into the man behind this,
Vladimir Putin the President of Russia. Vladimir Putin was Born on October 7th, 1952 Leningrad Russia
USSR now known as St.Petersburg, Russia.

In 1983 he got married to a flight attendant and had two daughters Mariya and Katerina, Putin later
divorced his wife in 2013. In 1994 he eventually was brought to the position of Deputy Mayor in his
city, moved to Moscow in 1996 and joined the presidential staff as deputy to Pavel Borodin. in 1998
he became the director of the FSB which was the agency after the KGB and a little after that became
secretary of the influential Security Council.

Boris Yeltsin Appointed Putin prime minister in 1999. So to summarize Putin’s early life before his
presidency would be pretty average, there’s not much that exactly sets him off from other earlier
world leaders. Joined the Russian secret service during the cold war and then started going up the
Political ladder from deputy mayor to prime minister.

After two terms Putin could not run again at that moment due to a provision in the constitution so
instead, he appointed himself chairman of Russia and allowed Dmitry Medvev to become president.
Once medvev was president he appointed Putin as prime minister. Once his term was up and Putin
was able to run again Medvev resigned as President and named himself chairman of Russia. To top it
off Putin then named Medvev Prime Minister of Russia. Basically a ‘help me help you’ kind of situation.

Putin’s power in Russia is unquestionable and because protesting in Russia is illegal there’s really
not much the common people can do. Now that he believes he cannot be ran out of office things
may only get worse from here. He used legal loopholes to stay in power and has gone as far as si-
lencing and running the media to make himself look better in his country’s eyes. As of now, Putin has
used multiple outlandish claims against Ukraine such as that Ukraine is performing ethnic genocide
against Russians to support his invasion.
