PART 4: DEVELOP A PLAN

Maintaining Cleanliness and keeping our environment safe and protected is our top priority and
our goal. We, as a volunteer, conducting a community service in San Juan city, we plan to pursue
our voluntarily help in terms of cleaning different areas and different streets of barangay Salapan
in San Juan City, not only to preserve cleanliness but also to help all the resident of the certain
areas. First step for the succession of our community service is to communicate to the officials or
officer in barangay Salapan, San Juan, to get their permission and cooperation, second step is to
prepare all the needed materials and also providing our budget for the community service, and
the last thing we should do to achieve our goals is to persuade and recruit some people or youth
as a volunteer, for us to have a large man power, to be more productive and progressive, because
we believe that unity and helping others is a great achievement, we could ever have for the rest
of our life. We choose the residence of Salapan, as a beneficiary, because we wanted to reduce
their waste disposal, to help them avoid the flood, and help the people there and to at least give
them some awareness about keeping our planet alive, just for practicing the right and proper
handling and caring the waste, surrounding and to let them know that even their health is at risk
if they neglect or abuse the nature. As a future volunteer, we wanted to help as many as we can,
we are aiming to help every barangay in San Juan, we want them to feel and realize that it is not
too late to protect our mother earth, a simple way or help could turn into a great and amazing
work. Helping is a voluntary act, we want to help without expecting anything in returns.

SPECIFIC PLAN:
 PROVIDE ENOUGH AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR THE SNACKS OF OUR
MEMBER OR VOLUNTEERS. We don’t want to starve our recruit volunteers; they
need to eat to gain some energy and motivation.
 PROVIDE CLEANING MATERIALS. It could be our own cleaning materials in our
house or a donation from the barangay or we could at least borrow some materials on
them
 TEND TO COOPERATE WITH THE BARANGAY OFFICIALS OR OFFICER
 RECRUIT TEAM MEMBERS FOR OUR COMMUNITY SERVICE. We would
love to persuade our classmates or any person that is willing to help for the environment
and for the people.
 IMPLEMENTING THE RIGHT AND PROPER PRACTICE OF CLEANING. In
this part we wanted the people in the certain areas, to know the 4R (reduce, reuse, recycle
and recover), proper waste Segregation and we should convince the people to dump their
waste into the right dump site.
 REPLANTING PROGRAM. We them want to know and practice replanting the trees
or any plants for the better scenery, for restoring our nature and for protection from
natural disasters.

The figure above is our timeline which tells our time duration in doing our Community Service.
We Plan to do our community service for four weeks, but in an alternative way, and we spent
only four days in our community service, for the reason that we also have a priority and a
responsibility to fulfill as a child, and as a student, and it will only last three hours per day and
we decide to do the cleaning routine in the morning.
PART 12: INDIVIDUAL REFLECTION

During our meeting and planning for this task, about community service I’d realize that
helping and volunteering will be an honor and a great achievement, but also it is quiet
challenging but at the same time exciting. When we are doing our paper or our project, we felt
the unexplainable feeling of excitement because we really put our heart and mind into it, we
made our plan as early as we can and we even based our plan for our community service on our
own perspective and in a real-life situation. Our community service is about keeping our
environment clean or a voluntary cleaning in a certain place, at first we do the brain storming and
each of us suggested different problems and community services, but at the end of the day, we
decided to choose the cleaning service, for us to be able to help the community, the people and of
course to protect and keep our environment alive, because we believe that waste is one of the
major factor that ruining our environment, wrong practices like improper waste disposal,
improper waste segregation, throwing garbage in streets, in water that will cause pollution and
wrong practice might bring risk to all living things, that’s why our group wanted to do something
that has related in taking care of our environment even in a simple way, we want to give an
awareness, to educate and teach some people to be more careful and stop being abusive.
Environment means everything to all living things, so while doing this activity, it gives us the
courage to open up and put all our hearts, ideas and thoughts into our project and that is for
keeping our environment, because we believe that environment is our protector and this is the
time to protect our protector, our environment is crying and begging silently, people tend to
ignore it, which is wrong, we owed our daily lives to the nature, because it is our treasure, our
resources, we must find a way to protect our environment, we must repay for what we have done,
we must repent for the mistakes we made, environment need us. And that the reason why we
decided to plan a community service that are related to the environment.
while in our group, I think we did a great job and for me unity is the key for our succession or for
finishing this task. At first, we set a schedule for our meeting and we talked about our task and
we divided it fair and equally, in addition all members in our group are really active,
approachable, and really kind, we are all cooperative and I think we had built a good team,
because we respect each other suggestions and ideas, and we are compatible we each other. To
be honest, I am happy and comfortable that they are my groupmates, and I am really grateful to
them for letting me in their group.
