" After providing the answers of the activity, ask the students to what they think (given the hints form
the activity) is the topic for the day?"
Answer:
1. Measure 6. Percentile
2. Position 7. Ordinal
Quizbowl:
Supposedly you have 35 students in the class. Sort them into 5 groups. Each groups will be given a tag
board, chalk and eraser. You are given 30 seconds to answer every questions. I (the teacher) will
command, "stop and raise your answers" when time is up.

Questions:
1. Arrange the data in ascending order. ( 5, 18, 25, 32, 43, 48, 56, 64, 72, 87, 91, 99)
2. Arrange the data in descending order. (99, 91, 87, 72, 64, 56, 48, 43, 32, 25, 18, 5)
3. What is the lowest and highest value of the set of data? (Lowest value: 5 Highest value: 99)
5. What is the middle value of the data? ( Median =48+56 / 2 = 104/2 = 52)
II. Instruction: Let the students arrange themselves according to their heights in ascending order.
Questions to be asked:
Analysis:
1. Since we have learned our topic for topic through our introductory activity. Can you give your own
understanding or definition to what is measure of position?
2. How many equal parts does quartiles, deciles and percentile have?
3. How did you learn the median value of the given data set or who's in the median position?
4. How did you learn who's in the lower and higher position?
5. What did you think is the importance of measure of position in real life situation?
Application:
Divide yourselves into 3 groups. In your group, asked each members of how many siblings they have and
their ages. Write the data results on a bondpaper.
Example:
Member 1 have 3 siblings, they are Nadine who is 27 y/o, Brifel who is 20 y/s old and Kimmy who is 3
y/o.
Member 2 have 4 siblings they are James who is 28 y/o, Bilmar who is 19 y/o, Xian who is 8 y/o and
Kisses 1 y/o.
And so on and so fourth. From the data you have, find Q1, Q2, Q3, D5, D8, P47 and P89. Present your
output in the class.
Assessment.
1. The order of the data must be arranged in descending order to easily identify the measure of position
asked. True or False.
Answer: False
2. In calculating quartile, we need to determine how many percent does each quarter belong and the
median of the the data regardless of the total number of the data. True or False.
Answer: False
3. Measure of position is a number that tells where the score relative to the others in a set of data. True
