Bobby, can you please collect my paperwork for Ms. Yani? Today is the due date.
By the way, I cannot attend class today because I’ve caught a fever. I also vomited many
times last night. I am seeing a doctor now. That’s why I entrust the paper with my elder
sister. Thanks Bobby.

Last Monday my little girls woke up with the feeling that, it was gong to be an unlucky for her.
She found that it was already 6:55 a.m., so she rushed to the bathroom. In a hurry she did not
notice a piece of soap lying on the floor. She stepped on it and slipped.
Then, she went into the dining room for her breakfast. She gulped down the milk, without
realising that it was too hot and it burned her tongue. She then got dressed and rushed to the bus
stop. Unfortunately, she missed the bus. Her heart sank, knowing that she would be late for
school and her teacher would be angry again.
22. Why did the girl feel that it was her unlucky day?
A. Because everything gone wrong for her in that day.
B. Because nothing gone wrong for her in that day.
C. Because nothing interesting happened in that day.
D. Because she found alot of interesting experiences in that day.
25. We know from the text that the author’s girl is...
A. dilligent.
B. clever.
C. smart.
D. lazy.
It was no fun staying behind the fence of my person's backyard while she was at school. Just beyond
those wood boards was a whole world of activity. There were squirrels to be chased, dogs to be
sniffed, fire hydrants to be marked, cats to be had! What else could I do? It was the call of the wild,
so I jumped the fence!
I headed for the park first. The squirrels didn't even see me coming! I chased them from rock to
rock and hole to hole. I heard a few people yell, "Get that dog on a leash!" so I decided I had better
get going before I got caught. My next stop was down the street from the park, where my good
friend Lucky lives. We greeted each other with all the proper sniffings.
"Lucky," I said, "you can jump this gate. It's only three feet high." But Lucky wouldn't do it. She
had been a stray and wanted nothing to do with getting out of the yard.
"You'll get lost, Blazer," she warned with a bark, but I didn't listen. Instead, I kept going and going
and going until nothing looked familiar. I was really on my own. At first, I panicked. Then, being
the intelligent dog that I am, I decided to play the "helpless animal routine." I found a sweet young
girl walking along the street and looked up at her with my big brown eyes. I played shy to gain her
sympathy, then moved in a little closer. Licking and tail wagging followed. I ended up in her car. A
short time later, I was right back where I started.
My person was not thrilled with me. I was forced to use the "please forgive me routine." My sad
eyes and wagging tail worked like a charm. Once again, everything was okay. I was at home, at
least until the next call of the wild!
30. What do you predict Blazer will do when she hears the next call of the wild?
A. She will stay right where she is.
B. She will tell her person she's going.
C. She will do a little dance.
D. She will jump the fence.

ANNOUNCEMENT
They are also among the most popular reptile pets in the United States, despite being
quite difficult to care for properly. In fact, most captive iguanas die within the first year,
and many are either turned loose by their owners or given to reptile rescue groups.
The green iguana’s extensive range comprises the rain forests of northern Mexico,
Central America, the Caribbean Islands, and southern Brazil. They spend most of their
lives in the canopy, descending only infrequently to mate, lay eggs, or change trees.
Primarily herbivores, iguanas are active during the day, feeding on leaves, flowers, and
fruit. They generally live near water and are excellent swimmers. If threatened, they will
leap from a branch, often from great heights, and escape with a splash to the water
below. They are also tough enough to land on solid ground from as high as 40 feet
(12 meters) and survive. Resting time is usually from afternoon till night.
37. “…, iguanas are active during the day, feeding on leaves …”
The word “feeding” in paragraph 4 can be replaced by the word ....
A. jumping
B. moving
C. eating
D. living
