GENERAL GUIDELINES (Under CBCS)
1. A Student shall have to pass in each paper (Theory, Practical, Project) of a subject prescribed in each semester of the
course, in order to get the Degree or Diploma.
2. Pass marks in CC/SEC/DSE shall be 40% of full marks. The Calculation of marks in a paper shall be done by adding marks
obtained in the Mid-Semester and End-Semester in a paper.
3. There shall be no Mid-Semester Examination of AECC,GE and Practical paper and Project paper.
4. Pass marks in AECC-2(EVS) and GE subjects (without practical) shall be 40% and pass marks in GE Subjects (with practical)
shall be 30 and 10 for theory portion and practical portion of the paper respectively.
5. The pass marks of compulsory AECC-1 (MIL-HN) language paper shall be 40% or pass marks in AECC-1 (MIL-HN) and MB
shall also be 40% in aggregate, however a student shall have to secure at least 20 marks in each of the papers to pass
in the paper.
6. To eligible for promotion to the Third Semester, a student should pass in at least 50% of CC,AECC (Compulsory) and GE
papers separately offered upto Second Semester, for UG and PG Course.
7. To be eligible for Promotion to Vth Semester a candidate should pass in at least 12 papers out of total18 papers (taken
together of Semester I,II,III & IV for UG Course).
8. A student will not be awarded degree unless he/she has cleared all the papers offered (including practical papers) within a
period of 12 Semesters (six academic years) and 4 years for U.G. and P.G. courses respectively from the date of his/her
admission in the college.
9. A promoted or detained student may clear the papers in which he/she has failed, in the subsequent Semester (odd
semester papers in odd semester and even semester papers in even semester).
10. A maximun of 5/4/3 grace marks for a theory paper carrying 100/75/50 marks respectively will be given in only one
paper and only once in an academic session to enable a student to pass in a particular semester or to secure First or Second
Class as the case may be in the final Semester.
