Ecuador does not run the risk of missing the World Cup

The next World Cup in Qatar is getting closer and closer. Meanwhile, in South America all eyes
are on what could happen with Ecuador for the registration of Byron Castillo in some matches
of the qualifying round of this continent. More when it was known that FIFA put the
magnifying glass on the matter, publishes Marca newspaper.

In Ecuador they are calm. This was confirmed by César Vásconez, the FEF's lawyer, in a
dialogue with the Chilean portal D13.

"Ecuador does not run the risk of missing the World Cup. Qatar is close, the FIFA disciplinary
committee can decide in about two months in the first instance. That can be appealed to FIFA
itself, which can take another two months. And then appeal to CAS, which takes another eight
months," he said.

And he concluded: "An enforceable judgment that ratifies that the player is Ecuadorian. If it is
determined that the player adulterated documents, I would understand that FIFA would have
to sanction the player, not the federation".
