Activity 1
As the writer Racnher Carson has narrated, that town in the heart of America was of
abundant vegetation and animal life. The forests flourished and attracted various types of
birds that in turn adorned the landscape with beautiful songs.
2. How it is now
Today the world is suffering a pandemic that could have been avoided if they had taken
the controls and respect for animal life in western countries, so that today we are living in
the flesh what the fable tells.
The future according to the fable is full of diseases which attack not only the hearing men
but also the children, with a very damaged environment due to the irreparable damages
generated by the same man.
4. A fable is a story with a lesson; so, in your opinion What is the lesson that this fable
teaches? (One or two lines)
To become aware of the great damage that the environment is currently suffering due to
pollution and industrialization of man, the environment must have a balance which must
be respected.

Composition:
Once upon a time there was a city located in northern Colombia that enjoyed a very happy and
safe culture which enjoyed its greatest national and international attraction which was the
traditional Salsa dance.
It is said that salsa arrived to Cali in the middle of the XX century by Cuban immigrants who
through songs and movements infected a whole region. Cali has the strategic advantage of being
close to the port of Buenaventura which is the largest port of import and export of the country
which positioned it as a city of constant industrial and civic growth. Over the years Cali was
becoming too small for the amount of people that populated it, so the administrations of the
district administrations
the task of looking for land nearby where to expand to meet the needs of a growing and happy
population that likes to party. The horizons of growth have been through Jamundí, Juanchito,
Yumbo, among others. It was not possible to provide industrialization in time, so the land roads
were becoming too small for pedestrian, automobile and industrial traffic. Today, shortly after
leaving Cali, it is common to find companies that require heavy transport which travels through
the city generating more traffic congestion and although there are proposals for road growth,
unfortunately political corruption and waste of public resources prevents progress so the city will
surely need more demand for roads while the city feels smaller and smaller. Its population in
general when going through traffic congestion, corruption, common crime, groups outside the
law, inflation, gradually loses the thrill of living in the beautiful city.
