A red red rose

O my luve is like a red , red rose

That’s newly sprung in june ;
O my luve is like the melody
That’s sweetly played in tune

So fair art thou, my bonnie lass,

So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a’ the seas gang dry.

Till a’ the seas gang dry, my dear,

And the rocks melt wi’ the sun;
I will love the still, my dear,
While the sands o’ life shall run.

And fare thee weel, my only luve

And fare thee well awhile
And I will come again, my luve,
Thought it were ten thousand mile.
 Analysis Poetry

O my luve is like a red,red rose

That’s newly sprung in june;
O my luve is like the melody
That’s sweetly played in tune

A man who loves the girl he loves, he expresses his love for his lovers , she said that her
lover was like a red rose that blooms in june, that is in summer , he said that the lover hi loves is
like a melody played in harmony. melody which means his love for a melody that is not only
sweet but plays in harmony.

So fair art thou ,my bonnie lass,

So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still ,my dear ,
Till a’ the seas gang dry.

His love is only for the girl he loves, his love is deep and lasts long until the ocean dries
up , the ocean will not dry up and if it dries up it takes a very long time , it means that his love
will not disappear so he will love his lover forever.

And the rocks melt wi’, my dear.
I will the sands o’ life shall run.

The picture of the age of his love that will never end is depicted like a rock that will not
be melted by the sun. Until whenever the stone will not melt, it shows that his love is not only for
a moment even though they are far from each other.

And fare thee will ,my only luve

And fare thee will awhile
And I will come again, my luve,
Thought it were ten thousand mile

Even if her lover leaves, she will find her lover even though the distance separates them
he doesn’t care how far away, he will try how to find his lover, his love for his lover describes
eternal love as a sign that shows that he will not give up until the end of his life.
