useful to have on the team. Interview this student, and if you feel they present themselves
well, offer a Saturday job (8 hours) paying 10 euros an hour. If the candidate asks to work on
Sundays, offer 4 hours on that day at the same rate.

Café Owner: Good Afternoon, Nice to meet you, could you please have a seat.
Candidate Employee: My pleasure and thank you, sir.
Café Owner: Can you please introduce yourself and let me know about you?
Candidate Employee: Sure, My Name is Michael Arnaud, you can call me Michael, I was
born in Paris, on 22 January 2005 now I’m 17 years old, I was a student at one of the high
schools in Paris and I am currently in the 11th grade.
Café Owner: Thank you Michael, so do you have any experience of working before?
Candidate Employee: Yes sir I have a lot of experience, Previously I worked part-time as a
butler in a hostel for 3 months and Part-time at a fast-food restaurant for 3 months. And I
worked every Sunday.
Café Owner: What is the reason you want to work at my café?
Candidate Employee: The first reason is that your cafe is always crowded with visitors who
come and is also famous in this city, with this situation I want to increase my experience and
knowledge more than where I worked before and learn more about the good service to guest,
Second, I can work 2 times a week with a fixed schedule that doesn't interfere with my study
time.
Café Owner: That’s a great answer, Michael, you can work without disturbing your study
time, I am very happy with people who are diligent and hardworking and don't forget their
school, From your experience, I think you can adapt to work at my cafe and your answers can
convince me that you are indeed a responsible person. Besides your English skill was great. I
want to offer you to work on Saturday and Sunday mornings or evenings alternately for 8
hours and a salary of 9.40 euros per hour, are you interested?
Candidate Employee: I'm very interested, sir, but can I negotiate about my salary and
schedule, sir?
Café Owner: Sure, I'm very open to negotiation, can you explain the reason for your
negotiation?
Candidate Employee: Thank you for your understanding, sir, with your cafe situation which
is always crowded and of course, more jobs are given, can I negotiate my salary to 10 Euro
per hour, for Sunday I just can work 4 hours because I need to finish my homework and
Activities at my home but don’t worry, I can work Alternately depending on the situation of
the Sunday and I am ready to work overtime and an additional salary that you can negotiate.
Café Owner: Very smart answer Michael, I can give you a salary of 10 euros per hour and for
overtime, I will give you a salary of 12 euros per hour overtime, are you interesting?
Candidate Employee: Sure, I’m very interesting and I agree with the offer you gave.
Café Owner: Well Michael, thank you for your Interview today, so when you can start
working?
Candidate Employee: I can start working this week sir.
Café Owner: That’s great, so you can start work this Saturday at 13.00 and please come 30
minutes before it, I will give you orientation, do you have any Questions?
Candidate Employee: Of course sir, I have a question about What clothes should I wear when
I work?
Café Owner: So you can wear Trousers and a T-shirt café which I will give you later, So is
there anything else?
Candidate Employee: Thank you, sir, I think that’s enough sir.
Café Owner: Well thank you for your time today Michael, I hope you are Comfortable
working here.
Candidate Employee: My Pleasure, thank you also for the trust that you have given to me,
Have a nice day sir.
Café Owner: You too Michael.
