Lesson Plan

Group and members: Amanda, Victoria, Mike Carway

Topic: Behavior management/token economy system

Technology Tool: Stash101

Pre-requisite: N/A

Events What do you plan to do and use?

Gain Attention Merrill’s Task-centered principle:

Start the workshop by asking the trainees to think about the

students in their school. How do they behave themselves? Are
they content with the students’ behaviors? How are the
students’ levels of engagements? Are they content with that as
well? Have they ever used/implemented a strategy to improve
student behavior and increase student engagement? If so, how
effective was it? If not, think of one strategy they can use to
improve student behavior and increase student engagement.

One specific strategy that can improve behavior and increase

engagement is a technology tool called Stash101. Stash101 is
an online banking simulation that can be implemented
schoolwide that rewards students with virtual money from doing
the right thing while also teaching good money habits they will
need in the future. This includes paying bills, saving, investing,
and other important financial literacy skills. What will really
engage students is the Stash store from which they can buy
items created by the school or teacher using their Stash cash.

Inform Learner of Gagne’s 2nd Event (Inform students of the objectives):

Objectives
Important that learning outcomes are clear to trainees so they
are aware of what they will be learning and what we expect they
should know by the conclusion of the workshop.

Our Training Objectives:

● Trainees will be able to create an effective environment
surrounding Stash101 in school and be able to carry out
several of its features, including:
○ Creating action items and rewarding students
with them.
○ Creating jobs and hiring students.
○ Creating marketplace items and assets.
Stimulate Prior Learning Merrill’s Activation principle:

Trainees are asked, “What is the purpose of a behavior

management system?” and will answer on the Q/A board.

Present Stimulus Material Bloom’s Taxonomy Application:

Trainees will create a list of jobs that they want their students to
have in their classrooms.

Provide Learner Guidance Gagne’s 5th Event (Provide learner guidance):

Trainees will add their trainers as their students to practice using

the applications in Stash101.

Elicit Performance Gagne’s 6th Event (Elicit Performance) and Merrill’s Application
(Practice) principle:

Assign a homework assignment to trainees involving them to

create their own Stash account and use it in their class. After
reviewing the training videos, they will select the features that
they want to have, import their students via Google Classroom
or manually, and begin using Stash with their students!
