Reflection
I added in the Fast Food Nation paper because I wanted to add what my skills were like
before. At the time of turning in the paper, I felt that this paper was the best thing I had ever
written. I also noticed that this was the case whenever I turned a PA in, when I turned in the
Individual Research Report I felt like that was the best paper because I spent so much time
researching and compiling a paper and I spent so much time and effort on it it felt like that had to
be the best thing I wrote. Then in Junior year everything was online so it was much more
difficult to work on things and I felt like the Brave New World paper I wrote was good because I
felt confident in my ability in analyzing the paper but I did not feel so good about the quality of
the paper still. It sort of felt lackluster and it was and I knew that too when submitting the paper.
I think this showed a bad part of my journey because everything was online and it was so
unmotivating to continue working on things but I still was able to get it done. Then in senior
year, we had the paper on Hamlet and I felt like this was the best paper that I had written in my 4
years in high school. We spent so much time working on it and it was the Senior Paper. It just
felt like those 2 words held so much meaning, like it was the last paper we had so I wanted to put
everything that I had into it and make sure it was the best that it could be. When I got feedback
after submitting it I was then able to see the mistakes, I feel like the quantity made me
overwhelmed, and I was not trying to read everything and just went off of what I remembered.
But after reworking my mistakes and finally getting my score I was still a bit upset over it but I

still felt proud over it a little. I think this shows a good part of my journey because it was the one
paper I had good hopes of turning in and was able to do. I feel like all of these papers do show
progress mostly. From my Fast Food Nation paper to the Hamlet paper, I felt much more
confident turning in the Hamlet paper because of all the experience I had previously.
For the writing, there wasn't any big reason why I choose these notes specifically. Fast
Food Nation and The Great Gatsby and Brave New World were all very interesting to me and
thats mainly the big reason why I picked those. I picked Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
annotations because I felt like it was also very interesting but I also felt like it was the one play
that I enjoyed reading. The other books were interesting and I think that reading them was
beneficial to me but I didn't find any joy in reading them, it just felt like a task that I had to do
and nothing more. But with RAGAD I liked reading the play and it was fun analyzing it.
For the speaking portion, I picked a presentation we did in Creative Writing. For me, this
was one of the best presentations that I did because I had so much fun messing around with my
group mates. I remember always coming into that class happy because I knew it was going to be
a really fun class because of the people in it. In my Sophomore year, I picked the Vaccine
Presentation we did because I felt very confident in the content and I also felt like the topic was
very interesting so I was happy doing it. For the Gender Project in Junior year, I'm going, to be
honest, I don't remember this too much so I don't know what to say about it.
I do think that in the past four years I have evolved. I think that the experiences I had in
University High are unique and who I am now is because I came to this school. Comparing the
paper I made in Freshman year and comparing it to my Senior paper, there is a clear difference in
skill level and I feel proud of that. I think that I have overcome a lot of obstacles and got to
where I am now and I'm happy about that. I wish I spent a little more time having fun with some

friends because I think a lot of my time was spent sitting behind a screen or on my phone but I
think I am ready for college so I'm good with the time I had at University High School.
