Personal engagement – 2

Justification:

ㆍ uses personal input and initiative in designing the investigation, such as using
reeds near industrial areas

ㆍ demonstrates interest by writing how they thought of the idea

Exploration – 4

Justification:

ㆍ Topic is identified and a relevant and fully focused research questions is

described

ㆍ Methodology is appropriate but does not consideration of one significant factor,

which is the existence of other elements in the plant

ㆍ Shows awareness of the significant safety, ethical or environmental issues that

are relevant to the methodology. (Disposal of acids). However, evidence is weak as the
student uses concentrated acid.

ㆍ Background information is appropriate and enhances understanding of the

reader

Analysis - 5

Justification:

ㆍ There is sufficient relevant quantitative and qualitative raw data to support the
conclusion

ㆍ But the data processing is not that accurate (example calculation for
concentration of A is not complete, digits are not consistent, and absolute error digits
should be reduced to 1 digit)

Evaluation – 5

Justification:

ㆍ Conclusion is described and justified

ㆍ However important limitation about the methodological limitation of not being

able to observe other presence of elements is not talked about

Communication – 3

Justification:

ㆍ Report is well structured but could be more concise
