1. Give a reaction about your data gathering experience. (3 paragraphs)

My experience in data gathering wasn’t easy especially in my case

that I lived in a far-flung area. I came from Purok Puting Bato in the
municipality of Malapatan, province of Sarangani. Every time I go to
school to have a consultation with my adviser, I always spent 300 pesos
on my transportation back and forth. I also encounter that when I go to
school, I wasn’t able to meet my teachers because there are busy in their
classes so I need to go home and back for tomorrow. The expenses and
time that I spent were quite expensive but it doesn’t matter as long as I’ll
succeed and my questionnaire will be validated and approved.

We use online as a data-gathering instrument. I made a google

form and send it via messenger to my respondent who is an intern student
of Ramon Magsaysay Memorial College. It’s not easy to meet my number
of responses because some of the students ignored my messages. I feel
struggled with how to catch their attention but thanks to my thesis adviser,
our dean who extend his help. The responses exceeded my needs, all
were a credit to my adviser.

The journey in the online gathering was not like in face-to-face

gathering. Yes, it might save my strength but I need time to finish my
gatherings. It’s not easy to gathered data but I believed that the time will
come, and I will finish my research. I just follow everything that’s my
adviser’s advice and what’s good to apply during I encountered hesitated
and problems.
2. Explain the process you follow before, during, and after the gathering of data.

The process of gathering data goes like this:

Before, I process the letter for the validation of our research questionnaire.

During, I find a teacher which is a research grammarian, a full-time

instructor, and one of the panelists in the proposal defense

After, I made a request letter to conduct/gather data and signed it to our

thesis adviser.

3. What are the problems you encountered upon doing your research? Likewise,
the values developed in you upon conducting your study?

The problems I encountered upon doing my research are first, the

financial needs, I really need money for transportation, printing, foods, and
many more. Second, on the gathering date, some of my respondents
ignored my messages. Last, I don’t have my own laptop. Even though I
encountered many challenges but I didn’t stop thinking about quitting or
surrendering. I believed that all my hardships will be paid off someday,
and the success will be mine at the right time. I’m doing this for myself, my
family, and all the people who support and trusted me in my journey. I
believed in the saying that “Difficult roads often lead to beautiful
destination”, so I didn’t stop dreaming until I graduate and be a police man
someday.
