I chose this poem because it is one of the most known poems by Maya Angelou
A free bird leaps
on the back of the wind
and floats downstream
till the current ends
and dips his wing
in the orange sun rays
and dares to claim the sky.
Commented [1]: Angelou starts by giving an example

Commented [3]: The caged bird is only ever thinking

Commented [6]: I'm going to infer that this poem is
about Maya Angelou and her fight in Civil Rights. She
doesn't believe that she will be able to ever leave her
cage but she can use her words to prevent her fate for
other people.
