DITCH-3A 32134 EDGEWATER 2021-LAKE

WINDCREST
SCOPE OF WORK

Scope of Work
Schuler Services LLC (SSLLC) has been requested to provide pricing based on the scope of work
and conditions outlined below:
-DITCH 3A, begins at 32134 Edgewater, from Edgewater Dr to concrete drop structure at inlet of
Lake Windcrest, approx. 400’.
1. Remove silt and debris from ditch 3a beginning at the county culverts approximately 400’ to
the concrete drop structure into Lake Windcrest. A continuous slope verified by laser level will be
established from the invert of the culverts under Edgewater Drive to the lip of the concrete pad
in front of the drop structure into Windcrest Lake. The side slope of the ditch will be re-
established or verified to be at a 3/1 slope to facilitate mowing. Debris will be trucked and
dumped in Lake Windcrest to be used for dam remediation. Debris deemed unworthy can be
dumped offsite if unsuitable for dam remediation in Lake Windcrest Ex; rock, concrete, old
geotek, etc. Any area found below grade will be removed of debris and silt before
backfilling/compacting to reestablished grade utilizing hi PI (30+pi) clay material or stabilized
sand.
2. The existing rip rap and Geotek at the county culvert outfall will be removed in order for
grade to be reestablished with a laser level. Once grade has been established, new Geotek will be
placed and existing rip rap will be re-installed.
3. At the end of 3A, invert of the concrete drop structure, there is evidence of undermining,
initial probing shows the exterior hole to be roughly 18-24” deep and undermining extends
roughly 10-12” under the concrete drop structure. After excavation to remove silt and debris
from hole to allow for proper compaction, an estimated 6-8 tons of 3.0 sac stabilized sand will be
necessary to complete repair. Given the dump truck can carry an average of 18-20 tons, we are
charged the same delivery rate regardless if we take delivery of only the 6-8 tons necessary to
complete the repair. Therefore, SSLLC recommends taking delivery of the entire load and any
stabilized sand remaining after repairing the drop structure will be used as necessary to reinforce
the rip rap or create a transition at the street culverts.

Water Diversion
4. Given the amount of water that can and currently is flowing thru the ditch as well as the backflow from
the lakes current pooling level, the ditch must be plugged at both ends and the remaining water pumped
before excavation can begin. The outfall into the lake and the culverts coming under the road can be
plugged utilizing 36” pipe plugs. The remaining two ditches flowing into 3a will be dammed with clay
and the water diverted around the construction area into the lake. Pricing below includes acquisition of 4-
36” pipe plugs, their installation, removal, and addition of clay coffer dams. Lake Windcrest is to retain
ownership of pipe plugs after the project is complete.

Temporary access
Access to the ditch will be made possible with the use of 8’x16’ Laminated mats. These mats
will allow the repeated travel of equipment into and out of the proposed work area. The ditch
entrance points will not handle the constant travel of heavy equipment otherwise. With
homeowner approval, these mats can be laid to utilize access via homeowner properties and
minimize damage to their properties. There are several utilities in the access ROW. Extra care
must be taken by SSLLC to prevent damage to these utilities during construction.

Work Schedule
All work to take place between 8am-5pm Monday-Saturday. Any work outside listed times will
be discussed with Lake Windcrest representative prior to. Given no weather-related delays or
other unforeseeable events, the work should take 6-10 business days from initial mobilization
to cleanup/demobilization.
Travel Route
Equipment/material will use the Lake Windcrest Blvd entrance for all construction related
activities. Material haul-off will use the same route to include the Crestlake Blvd entrance to
upper serenity dam and equipment/material staging.
Restoration
After work completion, all work areas, disturbed easement and access areas shall be restored
to a smooth condition prior to placing Hydroseed on all repaired disturbed areas. All areas to
receive Hydroseed shall be covered with 3” of topsoil to ensure seed germination. SSLLC shall
maintain seeding (watering, re-seeding, etc. as needed) until 70% germination is established.
Hydroseed mixture to include 10lbs Common Bermuda, 2lbs Browntop millet, 250 lbs
hydrocover mulch, 10 lbs 15-15-15 fertilizer with 12-16oz of tacktifier depending of degree of
slope. Batch mixture will cover 5,000sq ft each.
These areas will be reviewed by Schuler Services and a Lake Windcrest representative prior to
and after covering with hydroseed.
Pricing

cleanup/hydroseed (if applicable). Pricing is turn key, to include: all labor, material, equipment,
fuel, delivery, hydroseed, insurance, etc. @ $16,211.68.
