• Read the book aloud to your child, pointing to the d
words as you read them. After reading each page, ask,
“What do you see?”
• Have your child practice writing the letter d using different
colored crayons. Then hang it on a door in your home.
Remind him or her that the word door begins with d.
• On a sunny day, go to a park with a pond and feed the
ducks.
• Have your child use dimes to help you pay for an item
you need at the grocery store.
• Help your child think of a personally valuable word to
represent the letter d, such as dream.
