Activities
• Read the book aloud to your child, pointing to the h
words as you read them. After reading each page, ask,
“What do you see?”
• Have your child help you water your lawn or some plants
with a hose. Remind him or her that the word hose
begins with the letter h.
• Talk with your child about things he or she can do to
have a healthy heart. Discuss the importance of regular
exercise and healthy food.
• Go for a drive through the neighborhood and have your
child count how many houses of a certain color he or she
sees.
• Help your child think of a personally valuable word to
represent the letter h, such as hug.
