1.0 Introduction
Combating hunger is one of the most pressing worldwide health issues.
Malnutrition is seen as one of the numerous health inequities afflicting humans globally
in the twenty-first century, regardless of financial condition. Malnutrition is a worldwide
problem that manifests itself in a variety of ways. Malnutrition is more dangerous to
vulnerable populations such as newborns, children, and the elderly.
Malnutrition occurs when a person's diet does not provide enough nutrients. This
causes harm to the body's key organs and activities. In poorer and developing nations,
the most common cause of malnutrition is a lack of food. Malnutrition is considered as a
result of poverty, less income, more likely to have nutrient deficiency due to difficulty
obtaining food. Serious health issues are always a part of malnutrition, this includes
stunted growth, eye problems, Prolonged starvation results in altered cellular
metabolism, decreased function, and, eventually, tissue loss.
Also, the causes of malnutrition are Loss of appetite. Common causes of loss of
appetite include cancers, tumors, depressive illness and other mental illnesses, liver or
kidney disease, chronic infections etc. Second, people with a limited knowledge about
nutrition tend to follow an unhealthy diet with not enough nutrients, vitamins and
minerals and are at risk of malnutrition. Third, elderly living alone, disabled persons
living alone or young students living on their own often have difficulty cooking healthy
balanced meals for themselves and may be at risk of malnutrition. Those with digestive
illnesses like ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease or malabsorption syndrome have
difficulty in assimilating the nutrients from diet and may suffer from malnutrition.
In this time we think of a way that can help to combat malnutrition,
Malnutrition affects the function and recovery of every organ system.
