Essential Question:   what can we do to help students that cannot afford school supplies?

Three Points to Prove: #1:  access to education shouldn’t depend on how much money a family has

#2:  a lot of children in America are living either homeless or low income

#3: school supplies should be more affordable

Point that this Source Proves:   # 1

Excerpts (These should provide insight into the Point to Prove)

“At five years old, I had to take an hour-long bus ride to a faraway place to get a better
education.” (1:25)

“Why is a high-quality education only exclusive to the rich?” (3:30)

“I was like an educational Moses screaming, "Let my people go ... to high-quality schools!”

(3:50)

Analysis (How does this source support the Point to Prove?):

This supports my point of how student’s access to education shouldn’t depend on how
much money a family has because this person was someone who went through this
situation and is sharing her story from personal experience. She had to train to another
school that would treat her better. Not only was there still racism involved, but the fact that
her family was poor too.
Students shouldn’t have to move to different places, just to go to school or to get education because they’re
poor.
