Q. How did the family members contribute Jose Rizal’s moral and spiritual life?
A. One of the family members of Rizal that influence him is his mother. His mother was his first
teacher, and from her he learned to read, and consequently to value reading as a means for
learning and spending one’s time meaningfully. It did not take long before he learnt to value
time as life’s most precious gift, for she taught him never to waste a single second of it. From
his mother he learnt the primacy of improving oneself- thus growing up he took pains to
comprehend the logic of mathematics; to write poems; to draw, and sculpt; to paint. Sadly, for all
these he earned not only glory but also the fear of myopic souls.
Q. Compare Jose Rizal as young boy to the young generation at present.
A. The childhood of Jose Rizal can be characterized by his desire to learn, even frequenting the
church nearby his home to watch and observe people but not to be religiously inclined. Jose
Rizal was not a physically blessed or strong child however, he had a strong will guided and
taught by his mother, his first teacher. In today's young generation many of them are not that
seriously taking their education, even studying instead they are engaging in technologies such
as cellphone and browsing internet, playing online games and always on social media like
Facebook.
Q. Describe the background of Rizal’s ancestry that have contributed to his life
and education.
A. The background of Rizal’s ancestry was known as "Principalia" which means an aristocracy
of Spanish in the Philippines. Principalia because they possessed land money, in fact they had
sari-sari store before and their home is unique from the others. Having a carriage was a
prestigious symbol for illustrados throughout the Spanish era. Jose Rizal's family was known
as illustrados, which meant they were academically wealthy and belonged to a mestizo family.
Their family held Calamba's largest library, which housed over 1000 volumes of literature.
Their religiousness is well-known in their family. Jose and his siblings are morally pure and
raise their children in a Catholic home. Rizal being in a privileged family, had the chance to get
the education which few people can't get because of financial instability. Rizal's life was also
impacted by his loving and caring large family, as well as his love of nature, as evidenced by
the lovely scenery that surrounds their home, and his comprehension of faiths, which his
mother taught him. JoseRizal was able to read at the age of five because, as we all know, they
are "ilustrados." From that time forward, he studied the Spanish family bible known as
"Historia Sagrada," which enabled him to fight for social reforms for their land against
Dominican friars. Rizal's forefathers had been famous even before he was born. They
frequently attend a prominent school in Bian and succeed in Latin and Spanish, particularly
Jose Rizal, who was recognized for his outstanding promise at a young age

Q. Compare Rizal’s experiences as student in the different schools,


Ateneo, UST, and in Madrid.
A. Rizal has always been eager to learn new things, although he has been a genius since he was
a child. Ateneo, his first university, obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree to exhibit his love for
the arts and language. He was originally behind in class in comparison to his peers, but
because of his dedication to his studies, he has been dubbed the Emperor for being the most
exceptional individual in just a month and graduated withthe highest honors. He
subsequently moved to UST to study medicine for his mother, although he was less involved
in Ateneo. Rizal's academic performance in UST was not as impressive as that in Ateneo.
He was a good student in Medicine but not as gifted as hewas in Arts and Letters. Despite this, he
was still one of the seven students who remained in the course in his last year at UST out of
the original batch of twenty-four (Jose, 2011). At the Ateneo de Madrid, he traveled and
studied French, English, and German. Rizal was regarded as a superb student who, despite
the difficulties he experienced, never gave up until he completed what he started

Q. How the propaganda movement affects the revolution?


A. Propaganda Movement, reform and national consciousness movement that arose among
young Filipino expatriates in the late 19th century. Although its adherents expressed loyalty to
the Spanish colonial government, Spanish authorities harshly repressed the movement and
executed its most prominent member, José Rizal. The propagandists themselves were
considered to be rebels at home in the Philippines, and many were exiled. Despite its overall
failure, the movement generated a political consciousness that fed into the nationalist
revolution of 1896 and the struggle for independence that followed.

Q. If you were a member of propagandist, what will you do to contribute the campaign
reform?
A. I think the best contribution that I can give is to support my co- propagandist doings. As a
propagandist we are calling out what we thinks isn't right in the government specifically
politica reforms. In Rizals time propagandist are exposing the evils of Spanish administration,
and demanded freedom and equality for the Filipinos through pens, writing poems, book and
more.

Q. What were Rizal’s activities in Dapitan and their impact?


A. Rizal lived a pretty simple life during his banishment in Dapitan. Rizal had built an
informal school where he taught several children. He also had patients who went looking for
him to get healed. He is also fond of doing agricultural pursuits. Rizal devoted much effort in
dapitan He tilled the soil and planted rice, corn, abaca and many fruit trees. He practiced his
profession as physician and eye sorgeon. constructed residential and little hospital houses. He
also assisted to the beautification of the public square.
