Introduction

Software - Software is a set of instructions or programs

written by programmers/developers on various languages
for computer to perform some specific task.

Software is often divided into two categories..

1 ) System Software - It is a base for application

software which responsible for managing hardware.

In other words we can say that system software is a

intermediator between user and hardware. system
software is also known as Operating System.

2) Application Software - or simply applications, are
often called productivity programs or end-user programs
because they enable the user to complete tasks, such as
creating documents, spreadsheets, databases and
publications, doing online research, sending email,
designing graphics, running businesses, and even playing
games! Application software is specific to the task it is
designed for and can be as simple as a calculator
application or as complex as a word processing
application.

MS office, MS word, power point, excel, outlook etc.

->Internet browsers: Firefox, Google chrome, Safari, etc.

Software Characteristics

Software is defined as collection of computer programs,

procedures, rules and data. Software Characteristics are
classified into six major components:

These components are described below:

Functionality:

It refers to the degree of performance of the

software against its intended purpose.

Reliability:

A set of attribute that bear on capability of software

to maintain its level of performance under the given
condition for a stated period of time.

Efficiency:

It refers to the ability of the software to use system

resources in the most effective and efficient manner.the
software should make effective use of storage space and
executive command as per desired timing requirement.
Usability:

It refers to the extent to which the software can be

used with ease.the amount of effort or time required to
learn how to use the software

Maintainability:

It refers to the ease with which the modifications

can be made in a software system to extend its
functionality, improve its performance, or correct errors.

Portability:

A set of attribute that bear on the ability of software to be

transferred from one environment to another, without or
minimum changes.

For study and Analyze We selected most popular

software Google Chrome.

Functionality:

Google Chrome for Windows and Mac is a free web

browser developed by internet giant Google. Chrome is
designed to offer its users a fast and easy browsing
experience, reason why its user interface is rather clean.
Google has put efforts into making its browser a safe one
with great settings, information and cookies management
built-in tools

Realiability:

Chrome is Most Trust-able web browser. It provide

Incognito mode for more privacy.The updates always
incorporate an updated version of the malware and
phishing databases, so users will see an alert every time
they go to a listed website. Security and privacy is one of
the key features of this browser.

Efficiency:

Google chrome is most advance browser. It have all

feature that user require for surf on internet.It have more
feature than other browser like dev tool.Its lite interface
make browser more comfortable.
Usability:

A computer can have several browsers at the same

time. This means that you don't have to delete Explorer
when you install Google Chrome on a computer. In fact,
advanced users use different browsers for different
reasons.Google Chrome is the best choice for Internet
users who have a Windows-based computer and who
meet one of the following criteria:

A slow internet connection.

They need an updated browser.

They are not technology experts.

Portability:

Google offers all kinds of services. From email via

Gmail to Google Maps and the YouTube social network.
If you use any of them, the browser allows you to
synchronise them all to log in at the same time.

This synchronisation saves your bookmarks, extensions,

preferences and themes in the cloud. This means that
they will be available on any device when you sign in to
Google Chrome.
