experience with less lagging while cutting down hardware costs currently needed to decode
high-resolution video streams

Direct streaming (Mobile)

Say goodbye to the usual resource-heavy video transcoding taking place in the Mobile Server
with the new direct streaming feature. With direct streaming, live video is streamed directly to
XProtect Mobile and the XProtect Web Client, which drastically reduces the load on the
Mobile Server. Benefits include a Mobile Server that is capable of handling more users and an
improved viewing experience for mobile and web client users.

Expanded adaptive streaming

The existing adaptive streaming functionality in the XProtect Smart Client is now also available
for the XProtect Web Client. With this expansion, XProtect Web Client users can receive lower
resolution streams when a higher one isn’t necessary. The result is reduced load on the
Mobile Server and a more seamless viewing experience. With adaptive streaming in the
XProtect Web Client, users get a smoother and better user experience and reduced load on
the Mobile Server.

Hardware accelerated video decoding for video motion detection (NVIDIA)

Decoding for video motion detection takes advantage of the processing power in Graphical
Processing Units (GPUs) to significantly reduce the CPU load and improve performance of the
recording servers. The system automatically detects decoding capabilities for the installed
GPUs and distribute the load between all compatible hardware.

System Monitor
Customizable real-time system monitoring dashboard and report function for proactive
maintenance of the VMS installation.

Multi-stage Storage
Unique data storage solution that combines superior performance and scalability with video
data grooming for cost-efficient, long-term video storage, with the option to encrypt and

Multicast support

Two-step verification - Critical Update

System administrators can control user access to XProtect Web Client and Milestone Mobile
using two-step verification. In order to access video when two-step verification is on, users
need a login password and a one-time access code sent via email or text message.

Management Client profiles

Management Client profiles allow system administrators to modify the Management Client
user interface for other users. Associate Management Client profiles with roles to limit the
user interface to represent the functionality available for each administrator role

Time schedule-controlled user access to devices and functions

The ability to configure user access permissions that have a time condition to them.
Forexample a user has access to the resource, but only within a set time period.

operator an instant and visual overview of the location of the potential incident.

Day length time profile

The dynamic day-length time profile follows daylight changes over the year for a given location
defined by a GPS position, including daylight saving time.

Define PTZ presets (Smart Client)

Makes it possible for users to create, edit and delete PTZ presets for pan-tilt-zoom cameras
directly in the XProtect Smart Client, thereby eliminating the need to use the Management
