One type of traditional

Japanese clothing is the kimono.
The word kimono literally means
“thing to wear”, and up until the
19th century it was the main form of
dress worn by men and women. Authentic
women’s kimonos are made of silk, and they
are more colorful than men’s kimonos. Both men’s
and women’s kimonos are full-length dresses with wide
sleeves. Men’s kimonos have shorter sleeves. Japanese men and
women always wear tabi with kimonos. Tabis are traditional Japanese
socks. They are ankle-high leather socks with a separation between the big toe and
other toes. The traditional dress for an Indian woman is a sari. It is a large piece of cloth. Indian
women wrap it around their body in various styles. The most common style of wearing a sari is
around the waist, with one end draped over the shoulder. Most of the women wear a short-sleeved
blouse underneath. Traditional clothing for Indian men includes sherwani.İt is a knee-length jacket.
The jacket has a collar, and it always stands up. Indian men wear sherwani with tight fitting pants or
trousers called churidars. Churidars are trousers that are loose around the hips and thighs, but are
tight and gathered around the ankle.
