Cabanatuan City is popular for being home to more than 20,000 tricycles.

It prides itself as the "Tricycle Capital of the Philippines”. Aside from the

agricultural industry, tricycles are one of the major sources of income of the city.

Because of this, it is the number one mode of transportation. As a result, the

service from the drivers is not at its best anymore. This project aims to offer a

modern transportation system wherein not only the commuters will benefit but

also the drivers, and the rest of the residents of Cabanatuan City.

Nowadays, anywhere you go, there is a high pollution—there are smokes

everywhere. Most of the time, these pollutions cause sickness for some people.

This project will be an advocacy of greener environment because the E-motors

(electric motors) will be powered by obviously, electricity.

V. Rationale for the Proposed Project

 The idea started when the founder noticed that most tricycles drivers in

the area of Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija take advantage of the commuters; these

drivers would ask for fare more than what is reasonable. Compared to what they

have experienced in Puerto Princesa whereas no matter how far the destination

is, the rate is fixed considering that the gas prices there are much higher. Drivers

would do this because they know that these commuters don’t have a choice,

people will still ride tricycles no matter the fare considering Cabanatuan City

being the tricycle capital of the Philippines.

Also, there were reports that some drivers are unethical or rude to the

passengers. This project will also promote safety travel from pick-up to drop-off

points.

It aims to break the traditional system by transporting people from one

place to another without carbon emission and noise pollution. In this way, the

cost of fare would be more affordable for the commuters because the units will

be powered by electricity.

VI. Project Goals and Objectives

The goals and objectives of this project would be to modernize the

transport system; to give the commuters a trip that they deserve especially when

it comes to price and customer service. This will also promote the use of

renewable energy.
VII. Project Strategy/ Listing of Project Activities

35 units will be purchased for the start up phase. A defined trip will be

implemented for the first 25 e-motor units; there will be a Point A to Point B route

(PUJ type). The remaining 10- units will be taxi/cab type; there will be no defined

route. The commuters can also book their trip to a certain destination; they can

just call the customer service hotlines and they will be picked up from their place.

For the introductory phase, a certain number of vouchers with a free ride

will be given away randomly to future patrons of the said project to gather data

especially for the Senior Citizens and PWD’s.

VIII. Expected Results

This project will use renewable energy instead of gasoline. After a certain

period of time, the pollution in the target area will be lesser. Lessen the carbon

emission so there will be happier citizens.

IX. Innovation: How different it is for other or earlier projects?

The idea is to provide transportation services to commuters the

unconventional way—electric motors. In this project, the customers/commuters

will be catered the way they really deserve; from pick-up to drop-off points, they

will experience an outstanding service compared to the usual. This project will

also propose a free ride or free top-up for the Senior Citizens and PWD’s

(Persons With Disability).

 There will be a proper training for drivers, as well as proper screening and

background checking. The goal of this project is geared towards the safety of the

customers.

X. Organizational Background, including the expertise and experience.

Rent My Ride Car Rental Services was founded on 2013 and from there,

the company has gained trust from big corporations such as Unilever, Nickel Asia

(largest producer of lateritic nickel ore in the Philippines) and San Roque

Corporation.
